Meet Gwen

With more than a decade in nursing, spanning case management, acute and chronic care, and a deep specialization in diabetes prevention and nutrition, I've seen firsthand what happens when people get the right support at the right time. And what happens when they don't. That's why I founded The Nutritionist and Nurse: to give people access to diabetes prevention programs that are evidence-based, culturally grounded, and built for real life, not textbook life.

My work in diabetes prevention has earned CDC Full Plus Recognition, the highest level of quality acknowledgment for the National Diabetes Prevention Program. I'm a Medicare-approved MDPP Supplier, an American Diabetes Association Partner Organization, and a licensed nurse and certified nutritionist who believes prevention is the most powerful form of healthcare we have.

I also founded Copper and Greens®, a public health consulting practice dedicated to building healthier communities through workforce development, program design, and strategic partnerships that make prevention accessible at scale.

Whether I'm coaching a patient through their first lifestyle change or advising an organization on how to reduce chronic disease in their workforce, my approach is the same: meet people where they are, give them the tools that actually work, and help them build a health legacy that lasts.
